Take it from Meghan Trainor—just because you’re expecting doesn’t mean you can’t rock the latest trends. You asked for our maternity styling tips, and our founders delivered. We’ve got you covered on what to wear during pregnancy. Want the founders to answer your questions next week? Shoot us an email at hello@one33social.com. We’d love to hear from you.
If Meghan Trainor can pull off ONE33 Social while 34 weeks pregnant, you can too.
TIP #1: A blazer is your best friend.
Maternity blazers are an easy way to make any outfit chic. They hide all the undesirable lumps and bumps without swallowing up your figure. You can wear a matching set, like the Starling, if you’re in need of a more elevated look, or you can pair the blazer with your favorite maternity pants. The best part about the Starling is that the pants are made out of our ultra-comfortable stretch sequin fabric—leaving plenty of room for that baby bump. Meghan even wore the ONE33 Social set while performing on Australian Idol. Who says pregnancy has to slow you down?
TIP #2: Everything Jersey
Jersey fabrics are THE go-to for summer maternity wear. Our jersey dresses never sacrifice comfort for elegance—the ultra-luxe fabric grows with you and bounces back post-pregnancy. Turns out you can get that perfect fit without a tailoring bill. With summer just around the corner, you’ll be obsessed with this breathable fabric. For those of us who plan to spend some quality time on the beach, we’d recommend the Tabitha or the Hali. Both jersey dresses come in bright, vacation-worthy colors. Maternity wear doesn’t have to be boring.
TIP #3: Waistlines, waistlines, waistlines
We don’t have to tell you—when you’re expecting, waistlines become a daily battle. We love the empire waist for soon-to-be mothers. Elegant and flowy, empire waist dresses are the perfect option for summer weddings or your next black tie event. We love ONE33 Social’s signature red gown, the Leona—it’s made out of georgette fabric, which means you’ll have plenty of room for that baby bump. If you’re looking for something with sleeves that’s suitable for all seasons, the Kathy is another great empire waist option. Just because you’re pregnant doesn’t mean you can’t check ‘yes’ on that RSVP. Although, technically, you might need to add a plus one.
TIP #4: Over accessorize.
Is there even such a thing as over accessorizing? Yes, being pregnant may limit your outfit options, but accessories can always add that extra style boost. A new purse or pair of earrings can liven up staple pieces—trust us, once you find that perfect maternity dress, you’ll never want to take it off. Mixing and matching jewelry pieces is a good way to keep your style fresh—we want you feeling your best, mama.
The truth is, pregnancy is a great excuse to take your style to the next level—it empowers you to make bold choices you might not have made pre-pregnancy. From accessories to bright colors and fabrics, there’s a lot of fun to be had in maternity wear, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Oh, and congratulations from your friends at ONE33 Social. We can’t wait for our newest member of the girl gang.
XOXO,
Christine, Lara, and Kim
